Song Suffragettes is a weekly showcase of up-and-coming female singer-songwriters. It sounds completely awesome, and everyone should go all the time.

Yoga in the Park at Centennial Park – 6pm
Part of Team Green Adventures. Taught by Kali Yuga and graduates near Park Plaza & 31st Avenue. Bring your own mat!

Patrick and the Swayzees at The Basement – 7pm
Sometimes a band has such a good name that you just have to include them in the weekly highlights.

Whiskey Jam at The Basement East – 7:30pm
Featuring Johnny Hayes & the Loveseats, True Villians, Lewis Brice, Bee Taylor, and Fabrizio & the Fever.

New Faces Nite at The Basement – 8pm
Featuring Jade Bird, Moonwalker, The Josephines, Claire Bufalino, and Todd Kessler.

Thee Rock’n’Roll Residency at Mercy Lounge – 8pm, 18+
Started in April of ’13 by guitarists Jeremy Asbrock and Phil Shouse, Thee Rock N’ Roll Residency has become the longest-running, star-studdedest, Rock N’ Roll extravaganza in Nashville, TN.

Wednesday

Block Building Fun at Green Hills Library – 10:30am
It’s block building fun at the library! We’ll provide the Duplos and MegaBloks and you bring your creativity. For ages 3-7.

Thursday

Magic! with Dr. Gary Flegal at the Watkins Park Library – 2pm
See a table float like a scene right out of a Harry Potter movie! Whether you’re 5 or 95, you’ll laugh out loud at this magical family show. For ages 4-14.

Friday

Tyler Childers Listening Party at Grimey’s – 4pm
From the Grimey’s website: Join us at 4pm on the day Tyler Childers’ new album ‘Purgatory’ is released – Friday, August 4th, for a listening party. We’ll spin the new album, produced by Sturgill Simpson & David Ferguson, and drink some free beers courtesy of Thirty Tigers! “Like many great Southern storytellers, singer-songwriter Tyler Childers has fallen in love with a place. The people, landmarks and legendary moments from his childhood home of Lawrence County, Kentucky, populate the 10 songs in his formidable debut, Purgatory, an album that’s simultaneously modern and as ancient as the Appalachian Mountains in which events unfold.”

Join Adam Culver and the Lightning 100 crew every Friday from 5pm-8pm for Lightning 100’s Friday Afternoon Live Presented by Sugarlands Distilling Company and Devils Backbone Brewing Company. At 7pm The Local Artist of the Week will perform.

Saturday

Musicians Corner in Centennial Park – 12pm
Featuring Abigail Washburn & Wu Fei, Matthew Perryman Jones, Jade Bird & more.

First Saturday Downtown Art Crawl at 5th Avenue of the Arts – 6pm
Presenting local and world-renowned artists and artwork, the galleries offer rare opportunities to view diverse exhibitions featuring every genre of art. The First Saturday Art Crawl is a festive atmosphere with participating venues located along Fifth Avenue of the Arts and in the Historic Arcade – all welcoming the community to experience downtown Nashville as a center for art.

Honky Tonk Saturday Nite at The Basement East – 9pm
Presented by Robert’s Western World. Featuring Joshua Hedley, Touch of Texas, Kristina Murray, Jessica Styles & the Nite Owls, plus an after dance party with The Cowpokes.

Sunday

Bluegrass Jam at Station Inn – 8pm
Bring your musical instrument of choice and be ready to jammmmmm.
