Open House: A Comedy Open Mic Night at Mercy Lounge – 7:30pm, 21+
Open House is a comedy open mic for people who love comedy and openness. It will be a night of joy, tears and the occasional snort-laugh. So, come on down and watch some comedians tell funnies OR hop onstage and give it a try yourself. Hosted by Gary Fletcher.

8 off 8th at the Mercy Lounge – 8pm, 21+
This week’s 8 off 8th will feature performances by Karma Kite, Deli, Radar Vs. Wolf, Frances & The Foundation, Erin Rae and The Meanwhiles, The Flea Marketeers and Wild Cub.

Blue Monday with Kenny Vaughan and Jeffrey Clemens of G. Love at 12 South Taproom – 9:30pm, 21+
Jeff Clemens, Kenny Vaughan, & Johnny d’Artenay make up this blues trio that has changed Mondays in Nashville forever. Talent is one thing but timing and taste take this group to a level far and away from anything else in town. Come see for yourself what everyone in 12 South has known for a while now.

Kristi Rose & Fats Kaplin will be performing live at Parnassus Books!

New Faces Nite at The Basement – 8pm, 21+
This week the Basement’s New Faces Nite features White Violet, Adrian Krygowski, Jill Kinsey and more.


Christmas Concert with Jazz Piano at Scarritt-Bennett Center – 1pm
This performance will feature Jazz pianist John Arnn.

Old Time Jam at the 5 Spot – 7:30pm
East Nashville’s Wednesday Night Old Time Jam provides enthusiasts of traditional, acoustic-based roots music the opportunity to regularly meet, share tunes, dance, swap stories, and bond together in general camaraderie.


Brass Band of Nashville Presents: Christmas Unwrapped at Vine Street Christian Church – 7pm
Yes, it will mostly be Christmas songs, but will also feature some of their other favorite songs to play.

Salon@615 with Jon Meacham at the Main Library – 7:30pm
Jon Meacham will discuss and sign Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power.

Gypsy Hombres at 12 South Taproom – 8:30pm
The Gypsy Hombres are violin/guitar based trio that blends traditional jazz with European, South American, and classical music.


Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale In-Store at Grimey’s – 6pm
Despite years and years of these great songwriters being friends, they never really played or recorded together until now. Between them, they’ve worked with Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Robert Plant and many more. Don’t miss this opportunity to see them play together at Grimey’s! Maybe Jim will even tell some jokes.

Film Screening: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari at the Frist – 7pm
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is a silent movie that transports the viewer into a nightmarish world. A doctor hawks his own circus attraction that involves a sleepwalking man with psychic powers. Mysterious murders begin to occur across the small community. When the murderer attacks the beloved Jane, the betrothed of Francis, he seeks the truth about his fiancée’s fate. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari was one of the first horror films to gain international attention. Directed by Robert Wiene, 1919. 75 minutes.

Don Henry and Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart at the Tennessee State Museum – 7:30pm
Don Henry and Stacey Earle with Mark Stuart will be performing as part of Jammin at Hippie Jack’s at the Tennessee State Museum. Doors open at 7pm. As always, this will be broadcast at a future date on PBS.


3rd Annual Miracle on Music Row ft. Emmylou Harris at O.liv Body Bar – 10am-4pm
The 3rd Annual Miracle on Music Row (MOMR) , a pet adoption extravaganza, will feature a holiday dog parade, live performances by favorite Nashville musicians and performers, photos with Santa, a silent auction, and more.

Holiday Market at the Stone Fox – 10am-4pm
The Holiday Market at the Stone Fox will feature over thirty-five local vendors and craftspeople selling local and handmade products and food items.  There will be children’s activities, refreshments and food for sale and brunch served in the restaurant from 11 am- 3 pm.  Donations of canned goods and dry goods will be collected for Second Harvest Food Bank.  Third Man Records Rolling Record Store will be on hand selling vinyl records.

Grimey’s Annual Christmas Party – 11am-8pm
There’s going to be a big sale, live music in the Basement, the return of Naughty Santa and MORE! This is a blast every year, so don’t miss it.

Star Party at Edwin Warner Park – 8pm
The Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society is a group of astronomy enthusiasts who bring telescopes to local Nashville locations so that you can enjoy telescopic views of the planets and stars. These events are FREE, but are also weather permitting.

Y2K Nashville at the High Watt stage at Mercy Lounge – 11pm
This electronic dance party will feature performances by Coach, Hands Off Sam, and more.
